Multi Factor Authentication

Setting up or Resetting Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) in Kantoko

At Kantoko, you can add an extra layer of security to your account by using multi-factor authentication (MFA) or passkeys.

How to Set Up MFA or Passkeys

  1. Log in to Kantoko.
  2. Go to Settings.
  3. Select the Multi-Factor Authentication tab.

You can then choose from:

  • 2FA (Two-Factor Authentication) – Works through an authenticator app such as Google Authenticator. (We don’t support SMS or email for 2FA.)
  • Passkeys – Can be used on:
    • iOS (Face ID, Touch ID)
    • macOS (Touch ID)
    • Android (Fingerprint, Face)
    • Windows (Windows Hello)
    • Linux

Need to Reset Your 2FA?

If you’ve forgotten your 2FA setup or are having trouble logging in, we can help you reset it.

Since an email alone isn’t a secure way to verify identity, we’ll first need to confirm it’s really you before removing 2FA.

Here’s what we’ll need:

  1. Email Request - must be sent from the email address linked to your Kantoko account, which clearly states that you're requesting 2FA removal and tell us why.
  2. Phone Verification - we’ll call the phone number already on file for your account to confirm it's you making the request to remove the 2FA. (We can’t accept calls from other numbers.)

After We Reset Your 2FA

Once reset, open a new window and try logging in again - you’ll need to set up your 2FA again the next time you log in. We recommend doing this right away to keep your account secure.
