Welcome to Kantoko. Below are some of the commonly asked questions we get when patients start the process with us.
Assessment Process
I already have an ADHD diagnosis do I need to do this process again? |
Yes - we'll require you to go through our own assessment process based on our own safety and compliance standards. If you have a prior diagnosis, please upload your prior assessments to your profile as your ADHD doctor may want to review this. |
| Do you do 291 assessments? | No, we don't provide 291 assessments. We focus on long-term ADHD care, so after the assessment, we also take care of your ongoing ADHD management. |
Can I have a copy of my diagnosis? |
We don’t issue separate diagnostic reports. Your ADHD doctor at Kantoko will send your GP a letter summarising your diagnosis, which you can obtain from your GP or directly on your Kantoko profile. |
What if I’m not diagnosed with ADHD? |
If not diagnosed, your subscription is cancelled. Only the $200 initial month (for assessment) is charged. |
Onboarding Requirements
Do I need Medicare? |
Yes — we collect your Medicare details, but Medicare doesn’t cover the cost of the monthly fee. |
| What tests do I need to do prior to my appointment? | We'll require you to submit routine test results (such as blood pressure), as well as blood tests and an ECG graph. Full details are here. |
Our Doctors & Prescribing Process
| What type of doctor will I see? | All our ADHD doctors are Australian-registered medical practitioners with AHPRA. You will usually be seeing one of our Mental Health GPs with a special interest in ADHD, who receives ongoing support with a collaborating psychiatrist and our broader clinical team. |
| Can your doctor prescribe ADHD medication? | Yes, all our doctors can prescribe ADHD medication to you. Depending on the state you live in, some state regulations may differ (for example, some states may require our ADHD doctors to apply for permits prior to prescribing). |
| I'm moving states. Will that affect my prescriptions? | Kantoko is set up to support patients in all states across Australia. However, you must notify us as soon as possible if you're moving interstate, so we can assign you to a new ADHD doctor if applicable in your relevant state's regulations. |
